Apple Announces Special Event: "Spring Loaded" – New Products Imminent

So far, the Apple year 2021 has been extraordinarily quiet, but this will change very soon. Apple has just confirmed that a spring event is planned. Under the motto "Spring Loaded", the company invites to an online event to present new products. Once again, of course, no guests are invited to the Steve Jobs Theater, since Apple cannot hold any large events due to the Corona situation. As with the last events, Apple relies on a pre-produced event video. This can be watched on April 20th, starting at 10 p.m (Pacific time) - which means that instead of a March event, there will now be an April spectacle again for the first time in a long time.

The invitation graphic
Apple once again chose colorful interplay of various elements as the event graphic. A feather in the shape of an apple can be seen. Although it is not clear from the invitation what the theme will be, one can speculate with good reason.

Likely topics to be addressed
Apple has throttled production of the iMac 21.5" with 4K display, and even discontinued the iMac Pro altogether. For this reason, the announcement of a new iMac seems plausible. According to Jon Prosser, there should be color variants for the first time in many years, just like in the first iMac era. As with the last events, the search tags "AirTags" are once again considered a hot candidate for an event appearance, as the number of concrete references to the product increased even further. Also from Prosser is the statement that Apple could start selling a new Apple TV at any time.

iPad Pro certain, MacBook Pro rather not
On the other hand, it has become rather unlikely that the MacBook Pro 16" will also be switched to Apple's own processors this month. The most recent reports said that the presentation would probably take place in summer and not in spring. The same applies to the "big" iMac, which currently still relies on a 27" display. iPhone announcements, such as an iPhone SE 3, can be ruled out. There is also unlikely to be any information on the ARM-based Mac Pro. An iPad Pro with a new type of display (Mini LED) is considered very likely.
