MacBook Air 2022: New Concept Photos Reveal Possible Design

The MacBook Pro 2021 and iMac M1 haven't only changed in terms of their interiors since receiving Apple's shiny new M-chips, the computers also underwent a complete exterior makeover. The change in appearance differentiates the Californian company's latest Apple Silicon computers from their previous Intel predecessors. However, the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13", and Mac mini still bear the same design language as their former Intel counterparts.

Narrow Display Edges & Flattened Sides
With expectations bordering on assured, Apple's smallest notebook should receive an update next year, bringing some visual changes. The well-known Apple-leaker Jon Prosser leaked several renderings of a potential future MacBook Air even as early as this May. Ian Zelbo designed the renderings according to the leaked information provided by Prosser. The design looks as if the iMac M1 has heavily inspired it. The most notable characteristics include extra small display edges, flattened sides, and creative color options. Check out one of the renderings here:

White Panel Frame & Full-Sized Function Keys
After the presentation of the MacBook Pro 2021, Prosser and Zelbo got together and reworked their design concept for the MacBook Air 2022. New information was taken into account along with features from the new MacBook Pro, such as the device's new MagSafe connection – likely to become an Apple industry standard again. Additional factors considered for the new renderings also included information from dylandkt. Dylandkt predicts a white display frame and 1080p notch webcam for the MacBook Air 2022. There should also be full-sized function keys like the MacBook Pro 2021's.

Prosser & Zelbo – MacBook Air 2022 To Receive The Notch
Of course, Ian Zelbo added a notch to the MacBook Air 2022. Unlike the MacBook Pro 2021, the notch on the MacBook Air in these renderings is white like the device's display frame. As per the renderings, there are also USB-C/Thunderbolt-4 and MagSafe 3 connections and a headphone jack. Prosser and Zelbo didn't make any changes from previous renderings concerning the future device's color. According to the two, the MacBook Air 2022 will be available in seven colors: silver, orange, yellow, rosé, violet, blue, and green.
