New Release Candidates For iOS 15.3, macOS 12.2, & watchOS 8.4 – Will iOS 15.3 Release Soon?

Surprisingly enough, just after a second beta version last week, Apple decided to give us all a look at a series of new release candidates yesterday. A quick look at the developer portal will reveal a new lineup of release candidates for macOS 12.2, iOS 15.3, iPadOS 15.3, tvOS 15.2, watchOS 8.4, and HomePod Software 15.2 for download by registered developers. These are likely to arrive some time today in Apple's Public Beta Program.

Full Release Soon
Usually, Apple allows at least 3 to 7 days to pass after a release candidate has been published until the company the final version for all customers. Thus, the situation is likely to follow the same timeframe here. A release next week and a full version of the aforementioned release candidates is held to be very likely – unless any major errors or bugs pop up during the betas.

No Known New Features
Thus far, there aren't any significant new features known to us or any other tech media. Only the Music app in macOS 12.2 is set to receive any kind of visible change whatsoever. However, it's a rather good one: Thanks to the assistance of native platform features, Apple is renovating the Music app for macOS – along with making it considerably faster. In contrast to macOS 12.2, there aren't any new features (beyond the routine maintenance updates) expected in iOS 15.3 or iPadOS 15.3. Universal Control has yet to make its way over to macOS or iPadOS, despite its mention at Apple's Worldwide Developers' Conference back in the summer of 2021.
