Report: Test Production Starts – Will The 2022 iPhone SE be Released Soon?

Some users don't like the OLED displays of the flagship devices, whereas others can't do away with Touch ID. However, the most attractive factor is the price for most customers. The current line starts at US$399. In the meantime, the flagship models have more than exceeded the performance of the current and now somewhat outdated iPhone SE's technology. That's not surprising, given that most of the iPhone SE's hardware comes from the iPhone 11. Anyone playing around with the idea of an iPhone SE purchase right now should be a little patient. A new report reveals that we might not be that far off from the third generation iPhone SE.

New iPhone SE In Spring Of 2022?
The Chinese portal MyDriver has named some more information concerning the upcoming iPhone SE. According to sources in the supply chain, test production for the new device will begin soon. The test production phase will be the phase immediately before mass production. An official release in the spring of 2022 wouldn't be unreasonable if the report is correct. The scenario isn't entirely absurd either. The current model iPhone SE was released in April of last year, and other reports anticipate a new, third-generation iPhone SE.

Industry Insiders Expect An A15 With 5G
Analysts foresee an enormous potential for Apple-inclined Android users to give a 2022 iPhone SE a chance. However, this wouldn't come about as a result of the design. Industry insiders expect the design language to remain the same and still be based on the iPhone 8 from 2017, which wasn't met with any fireworks then. The processor, however, should be an A15 bionic, and 5G should also be onboard. Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicted that Apple would change things around with the device's memory a bit as well, increasing it from two to three gigabytes.
